The Man Didn’t Get On With His Siblings
“My brothers, sisters, and I do not have a great relationship. We’re all low or no contact with each other. I have a great job that pays very well while they’re barely making minimum wage or living off their spouses.”
He Had Always Supported His Parents
The man had been his parents’ primary caregiver during their declining years. That meant looking after them and paying for any treatment or support that they needed. While his siblings sometimes visited, none of them made the same contribution.

The Will Was A Nightmare
“I thought the estate would be divided equally between the children, but instead the bulk of the estate (almost all of it is in the house) was left to my siblings. My portion was a minority (5%) ownership of their house.”
His Mom Felt He Didn’t Need The Money
The man’s mother had written him a letter. It explained that since he was doing so well in life, she felt that he didn’t need to inherit as much as his less fortunate siblings. She was grateful for all the help that he’d given her, but she wanted to leave her money where it counted most.
He Couldn’t Believe What He Was Reading
While his mom clearly thought she was acting fairly, the man was horrified. After all that he’d done for his parents, he was getting as good as nothing. Meanwhile, his siblings, who hadn’t looked after their parents at all, were getting a big payout.
The Siblings Wanted To Sell The House
The man’s siblings were cash-hungry, and they wanted to put the house on the market as soon as possible. There were plenty of taxes and bills to pay. However, the man still felt hurt by what had happened, and he wasn’t going to make things easy on his siblings.
The Man Refused To Sell
The man had only had a 5% stake in his parents’ house, but he wanted to use it to his advantage. He refused to agree to sell the house, and he knew that his siblings couldn’t afford to buy him out.
His Siblings’ Pleas Fell On Deaf Ears
