Meet “Jim,” a 30-year-old man who has been married to his wife “Lexi,” 28, for 5 years. The couple has always had a strong relationship, but lately, an issue with Lexi’s co-workers has been causing drama.

Jim admits that he secretly agrees with Lexi’s co-workers, saying, “I love Lexi, but one trait that has always been an issue is her pessimism. Lexi has a bad habit of thinking negatively, assuming the worst in other people, and generally has a defeated attitude. Basically a ‘Debby Downer.'”
Taking Matters Into His Own Hands
After months of hearing Lexi complain about her co-workers, Jim decided to take matters into his own hands. He had a day off from work and decided to go to Lexi’s workplace and observe her interactions with her co-workers.

Lexi knew that Jim would be there and insisted that she would prove to him that she’s being “unfairly targeted.” However, during several interactions, Lexi would endlessly complain about having to be at work, say nasty things about customers, and have very bad body language. She would roll her eyes and obnoxiously sigh when customers left her registry.
An Uncomfortable Watch
Jim was uncomfortable watching her behavior and he left after two hours. When Lexi came home from work, she immediately started complaining about her co-workers and how “cold they were towards her for no reason.”

Jim explains, “She felt vindicated and said, ‘So, do you believe me now? Now do you understand why I have to moan all the time? Maybe now you can understand how I feel.’ I explained to her that, based on what I observed, I actually agree with her co-workers.”

Lexi exploded on Jim, calling him a “slimy weasel” for siding with her co-workers. She stormed out of the house and is currently staying with her Mom. Jim is trying his best to understand where she’s coming from but doesn’t know what else he can do.
