A man pulled into a parking space, then a woman tried pulling into the same space claiming she needed it urgently. Here is what the man had to say:
He Went To Park His Car
The man said, “I was pulling in to park on the side of the road today without noticing a woman ahead of me was also looking to park there.”
He Didn’t Know She Wanted To Park There
He explained that the woman had already driven past the space to reverse back into it, but she hadn’t started reversing by the time the man drove into it, so he genuinely didn’t realize. The man clarified that the woman was not reversing into the space when he moved into it, and neither was her reverse light on. But he was shocked by what happened next.
He Couldn’t Understand Her Actions
As he was backing into the space, she started to back her car into the same space. The man was taken back and quickly stamped on his brakes. At this point, he had practically parked in the space and couldn’t understand why she had tried to also park in the same space.
She Had A Child In The Car
The woman then got out of her car, and “said she was parking there and that she had a child in the car and needed to go into the supermarket”, the man explained.
He Had Been First
The man really didn’t know how to respond to this or what she wanted him to do exactly. He had started to reverse his car into the parking space first, after all!
It Was Awkward
So the man told her that he was already in the parking space when she started reversing. The man explained what happened next, “She just stood looking at me (really awkward) and after a bit goes, Well, are you going to move your car?”
She Didn’t Move
In response, the man told her he wasn’t going to move and went to get his bag out of the car. However, she didn’t move! Instead, she stood at his car window and told him that she had a kid in the car, she was in a rush, and that he should find someplace else to park.
He Left
In response, the man told her that he was also in a rush and had to go. So he got out of his car and walked into the supermarket, leaving the woman standing there.
Was the Man In The Wrong?
He was genuinely in a rush, but the way the woman reacted left him questioning if he was in the wrong. He said, “I feel like she was being an absolute wagon for no reason. If she’d asked politely, I might have moved (I dunno, though, because it was pouring down and I was already late).”
