She Was Invited To A Wedding
The woman said, “My fiancé and I were invited to a wedding this coming August. My in-laws were also invited to this wedding; which includes his parents, his two sisters, and their husband/boyfriend.”
They Were Going To Share Accommodation
The family members began discussing the possibility of sharing accommodation during the wedding weekend. However, the woman was not on close terms with her in-laws due to past experiences.
They Didn’t Respect Her Privacy
Having lived with her fiancé’s family briefly in the past, the woman recounted instances when her privacy and personal boundaries were violated. Family members would enter her room without permission, come into the bathroom while she was showering (due to a malfunctioning lock), and go through her personal belongings. Given this history, she expressed discomfort with the idea of staying together with them for the upcoming wedding weekend.
She Didn’t Want To Stay With Them
She talked to her fiancé about her concerns, explaining that staying with his family would likely make her anxious. She also noted that the accommodation they were considering might not even have enough rooms to accommodate everyone comfortably.
She Had An Alternative Plan
To deal with these concerns, the woman decided to book a separate room for herself and her fiancé. She felt this arrangement would offer her a sense of security and relief from potentially uncomfortable situations. Her fiancé agreed with her decision, and she believed the matter was resolved.
Her In-Laws Had Already Booked Accommodation
However, in a recent conversation, her fiancé told her that one of his sisters was asking for their share of payment for the shared accommodation. Confused, the woman reminded him that they had already made separate arrangements. He then revealed that his sister had booked the shared accommodation after the woman had booked their private room.
She Wanted Him To Sort It Out
Unfortunately, her fiance had not informed his sister about their separate arrangements. The woman said that she wasn’t willing to cancel their individual booking and suggested her fiancé talk to his sister to clarify the situation and address the payment.
But He Backed Out
The woman explained, “He said that I would have to call her and explain because he wasn’t going to be defending us to them anymore. I hung up on him and have been ignoring his calls since.”
Was The Woman In The Wrong?
