A woman recounts a story about how she tried to freak out her mother-in-law to stop her from barging into the bathroom without knocking. Here is what she had to say:
Her Mother-In-Law Didn’t Respect Privacy
The woman explained, “So, my mother-in-law came to stay with us for a few weeks until her home is renovated for Christmas. The problem is that she has been randomly walking in on me while I’m in the bathroom. Thankfully, not once has she seen me naked because I started picking up on her behavior after the second time in a week.”
The Woman Grew Frustrated
Every time her mother-in-law walked into the bathroom with the woman in it, she would quickly apologize and close the door. The woman tried to speak to her husband about it, but he brushed it off.
Her Husband Wasn’t Sympathetic
The woman explained that “He kept ignoring me, then flat out said, “So what if she accidentally saw you naked? She’s faaaammmillly!!”. He seriously said that!”
She Didn’t Want To Use The Lock
There was a lock on the bathroom door, but the woman didn’t want to use it. She had had a traumatic childhood experience of being locked in the bathroom when she was very young.
She Thought Of A Plan
Instead, the woman came up with a strange plan that she hoped would stop her mother-in-law from barging into the bathroom when she was in it and instead give her the privacy she wanted.
And It Was Quite Strange
She explained, “When she “accidentally” barges in, she would see me in a weird/awkward position. For example, doing a ballet stand, standing on the toilet, or standing facing the wall with my hands up (fully clothed, of course).”
She Found It Hilarious
So, when her mother-in-law came into the bathroom next, she was very confused as she couldn’t comprehend what the woman was doing! The woman found this hilarious, but things took another strange turn.
But It Freaked Out Her Mother-In-Law
Her mother-in-law spoke to her husband about walking into the bathroom and seeing her doing her “rituals”. She told him she was “terrified and weirded” out by them. Her husband was furious and told the woman he should have been mature and just locked the door rather than playing mind games.
Was The Woman In The Wrong?
As a result, both her husband and mother-in-law are upset with her. Her husband demanded that she apologize before her mother-in-law next came to visit. Despite the strong reaction, the woman found the whole situation funny and didn’t think she had any reason to apologize.
