After remarrying, his mother went on to have four other children, all of whom the boy loved. His stepdad, however, was hardly involved in their lives, and when he was around, he was nasty. The boy believed that his mother allowed this behavior because she was afraid to be alone.
His Aunt Was Incredible
Despite his father dying, the boy was incredibly close to his paternal family. Especially his aunt, who often told the teen that he reminded her of his dad when he was his age. His dad was the best man his aunt had ever known, and the boy took comfort in that. She said his father would have been so proud of the man he had become.

Unfortunately, his aunt passed away, and the boy was devastated. She’d left a gaping hole in his life. After her death, he discovered she had left most of her fortune to him. She had a lot of assets, and it all added up. He couldn’t believe it.

When his mother and stepdad found out, they were outraged. The boy’s aunt hadn’t left any money for his siblings. She had, however, spread smaller amounts across his cousins. His siblings had considered his paternal aunt their family, so they weren’t happy when they found out.

Unfortunately, the boy’s father’s family did not feel the same as his siblings. They included them in events, but they didn’t feel as strong a bond as his siblings did towards them. The boy’s mother felt bad for her other kids and continued asking him to share his money, even suggesting he ask his grandparents, who were the keepers of the money till he turned 18 if he could have the fortune early.

His mom said he was hogging the money and didn’t need it all.
