The woman believed in maintaining financial independence despite her newfound wealth. She considered her boyfriend’s request to be premature, given their relatively short relationship duration.

The couple found themselves in a disagreement over the financial arrangement. The woman continued to pay her share of the rent, even though she was no longer working, and expected her boyfriend to do the same.

The woman didn’t keep all of her wealth to herself, however. She stated that she “started paying for a housekeeper to come in and clean a few times a week, so our apartment is nearly always spotless and looks great”.

The woman became conflicted in retaliation to the argument with her boyfriend. On one side, she thought he was acting entitled, selfish and highly expective. On the other hand, she was aware that $4 million was an enormous sum of money, so perhaps she was overreacting to her boyfriend’s requests.
